How to Recycle Your Cat Litter Box Packaging

One of the ways to understand whether you can recycle your cat litter container is to look for a How2Recycle label. You’ll find it on the back, bottom or side of your ARM & HAMMER™ kitty litter box or bag. It will tell you if the packaging is made from cardboard, coated paper, plastic, or another material.

The text below the recycling symbol will tell you whether the cat litter box or bag is recyclable as well as how you should separate it. See an example of the image below.

Arm & Hammer™ clumping cat litters, multi-cat litters, orange box, lightweight litters, and easy clean-up litters come in cardboard cat litter boxes. These are made of paper and can be recycled with other cardboard through curbside recycling or at local collection centers.

If your cat litter container has a recycling symbol with the phrase “Check Locally,” it may not be recyclable in all communities. Check with your recycling provider to confirm that they can take it.

Once you’ve confirmed that your cardboard cat litter container can be recycled in your community, ensure that it is empty and then place the broken-down box into your recycling bin. Don’t let cardboard you plan to recycle get wet.
